Yesterday Sue Reno came to our guild to do a lecture on cyanotypes, heliographic prints and image transfers. Her lecture was amazing! She was down-to-earth, and made the process seem easy, exciting and a wonderful addition to my quilting repetouire! I am hoping to sell some of my bags on Ebay this week, so I can go and buy some of the cyanotype paper and transparancy sheets. Then I will try it out as soon as they get here!
Tuesday I tried out the ink with shaving cream technique I learned at the Tsukineko ink booth at the Hampton show. You basically smear shaving cream on a tabletop, drop spots of the ink all around and then use a pencil tip to draw lines horizontally and/or vertically to create a marbling effect. Cool! It was fun, and I used up every bit of that dye/shaving cream. I even dragged an old shirt out of the Good will bag to wipe up all the end mess and I am going to add that to my fabric stash.
I have been very inactive here on my blog. I make a resolution to add to it every night, do great for a few days, and then it goes by the wayside. :( This time I am really going to try to write at least once a week. I think this will help me to look at what I am doing and when, and improve.

I'm so bummed I missed this :( I drove over from work and there was NO parking. I've wanted to do cyanotypes for forever.
